Be Fruitful and Multiply

multiply

In Genesis 1:27-28 God tells Adam to be fruitful and multiply, as pastors we are to multiply by planting churches.  There are others in your congregation that are more than likely called to the pastorate and have the desire to start a work and plant a church.  Don’t be foolish to think that you are the only one and not find your kids (spiritual children) and train them up in the way they should go.

As a pastor part of your mission is to equip the saints for the work in the ministry and that also includes preparing pastors.  You can and should have baby churches that are under you and you will have multiple locations even with your current churches.

There are churches called multi-sites where they are one church with many locations.  Where is a couple ways to do it.

  1. Congregational pastors-  This is where the church has the same name as the mother church and the pastor runs the church under the coaching and over-site of the (father) senior pastor.
  2. One church- This is where the father (senior pastor) broadcasts Sunday services using simulcasting the signal to the other locations.  There are location pastors that do the after are including midweek bible studies and so on…

In my book Startup Guide to Church Planting I go into more details on multi-site churches.

As a spiritual father to your congregation and you should want your children to do better than their parents.  The same thing should happen in your church.  Church planting must be in your DNA and plan, by doing so God will bless you ministry with overflow.  Being fruitful and multiply are commandments not a suggestion, meaning make babies (pastors) after you own kind.
